He was an interbank FX dealer, handling client flow and earning on proprietary trading. At Mizuho Bank he built his career as a USD/KRW spot dealer, supplying liquidity to the market, and at NH Investment & Securities he overhauled the FX swap trading module, turning gut-feel FX management into statistics and systems.
He then moved to Smilegate Investment as a core manager of its fintech fund, where he sourced and invested in Travel Wallet and backed fintech companies such as Payhere and Habit Factory. A year and a half after that investment he joined Travel Wallet as CFO, rebuilt its FX systems and accounting, wired bank FX APIs, and raised its Series D.

He sat in all three seats, then founded KustodyFi.
Twenty years in enterprise IT, from SAP consultant to head of sales. He closed dozens of SAP programs for Hyundai Motor, Lotte, LG and Asiana, and, as COO, ran a 90-person, KRW 15B IT firm with U.S. and German subsidiaries.
Nine years at Samsung Electronics as a software engineer, doing AI modeling centered on NLP. Then a career change: four years as an FX trader, building and using tools for algorithmic execution and derivatives pricing and hedging.
Twenty years building payment and platform products. Nine at Kakao and KakaoPay, leading the payments team and the account/identity platform, and running the company-wide KYC/AML task force. Led Travel Wallet's global launch.
Ten years in backend. Took a global crypto derivatives exchange from zero to launch and ran its infrastructure and platform.
Seven years in financial systems, doing server development and running high-volume financial data systems at Hana Financial TI, KakaoPay Securities, Toss Bank and others.
Started in startup incubation, helping early-stage companies grow. Now a government grant specialist, finding and winning public programs that fit each company's situation and needs. Has worked at the Korea Venture Business Association, Kwangwoon University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation and Payhere.
